Miss ya Jeff Buckley

Celebrating 50 years of Dr. Martens, nice cover of "Lilac Wine" by Cinematic Orchestra.  The song originally written by Jeff Buckley in 1994.  Buckley was a huge influence over my musical journey thru the end of high school and college.  I have some smart music friends to thank for that (Stitty!)

Beer in a Bag, Dick in a B-x....I mean....

Hereeee, HEREEE, its time for a small revolution to take place.  A few years ago the alcoholic beverage industry brought us mixed drink in a pouch.  I know my friends loved the purple hooters.  And it was glorious, and we all cheered as spiked capri-sun drank dripped down our shirts.

Northern Light

I loved Alaska when I visited it in 2007, and one of my favorite parts was visiting a museum in Anchorage which had a whole exhibit on Aurora Borealis .  But the one thing that bothered me that day was that the lady talking to us, before showing us a sweet video of still photography on the subject convinced me that video of this phenomenon was limited...Happy to know she was WAYYYY OFF, and probably just trying to sell the video to me...but in any case enjoy this sweet magic video on a subject that just BLOWS MY MIND

Oldies but GOODIES, bringing our Youth BACK

Came upon this video on another blog, the history of the video game console.  Is pretty awesome especially the 8-bit music that goes along with it.  Don't even recognize the consoles from the 70s, but I do recognize the Atari 5200 from 1982 which according to my blurred memory of childhood was my brother and I's 1st video game console.

Strap ON....your wii....strap...on

Last Saturday we went to a Nintendo Wii event in Redondo Beach.  Why or how this massive free event came about is of no interest to me, but rather was a great reason to enjoy something new close to home.

While being children and Mario Karting it up, one of the Wii Staff members kept coming over and saying things such as;

"Put your strap on"

and 

"I will call security if you don't put your strap on"
