New extraordinary images of space were released over the last week. They are pictures of 2 different Nebulas. The 1st being called "The Eye of God" or Helix Nebula and "The Pillars of Creation" or Eagle Nebula. Both were shot using infra-red technology. Both are out of this world:) See a preview below and click the links for more details and info.
If you live in SF, you DEF need to check out a exhibit opening at the Spoke Art Gallery on Sutter street. Its curated by Ken Harman who runs an amazing art blog, Supersonic Electronic . The show features a ton of young artists with amazing talents....Seriously you should check it out if you are local in anyway. And if you don't get a chance, just peruse the blog for some inspiring works.

One of the things I LOVED about growing up in a smaller suburban town was the lack of billboards...These days we are inundated with visual pollution whether we wish to partake or not. "This Space Available" is a new documetary that addresses this issue with public space. Check out this clip from the Brian Lehrer Live NYC show as he interviews Executive Producer and Marketing Guru Marc Gobe, and his daughter and the director of the film Gwenalle Gobe.
Check out their webpage for more info about screenings and the film
So didn't know about this, but now I do...so you should too (if you were late as well)....
Black Cab Sessions...Musicians stripped down to accoustic performances...in the back of a London black cab. Some really stellar performances. A new performance by Feist is what led me to it today, but man I could spend hours listening, with a wide variety of performances from Bill Callahan to Weezer, to Daniel Johnston to Roots Manueva....Checks it out....SERIOUSLY...the English love their music...and I LOVE THEM FOR IT JUST A LIL BIT MORE
Appearing on a Norweigen Talk show, Michael Winslow reminds us how he is still cooler than us all. With only an acoustic guitar backup, he recreates Led Zepplin's Whole Lotta Love flawlessly.
Sweet company producing displays and a few products using magnets to create the illusion of floating. Super cool, would love to have something like this, but the lights they produce sell for almost $1500....so for now...I will enjoy...from afar. Check out the links below for more info, and the Crealev page where they show a few of their products and usage.
